RUGBY REPORT for 2017

The season kicked off with the annual pre-season Dairiboard Rugby Festival held at Prince Edward School towards the end of the April holiday.  In spite of a week-long camp and hiring a young and energetic coach, the HOUNDS failed to match the success stories of the previous seasons as they lost two of  their three games against Goromonzi High School and Wise Owl High School.

However they did better than the previous year as they managed to win one of their three fixtures against Murewa High School.

Despite being at the wrong end of the results, the team put up a spirited campaign which produced some awesome individual displays culminating in Tatenda Midzi being crowned man-of-the-match against Murewa HIgh School inwhich the hounds completely destroyed their opponents

The unlucky streak however did not persist in the league season in which the College managed to win all of their league fixtures against Mazoe, Morgan and Visitation High School .  Perhaps there is a lot of notable positive results to be drawn from the season which includes the concentration on the junior teams.  Both the under 14’s and 16’s were quite active during the season and got some competitive game time, indeed the future looks bright for them.

The rugby team wishes to express sincere gratitude to the school administration for making it possible for the teams to fulfill their fixtures.
